What is bevel gear and how it work.
A gear is made of toothed wheels that transmits the mechanical force between

for which they are manufactured determines the design of the gears (bevel

Types of bevel gears:-

1. Helical
gear:- It is used to combine left and right handed spirals to transmit
movement between intersecting axes in the same plane. This reduces the speed of

They are commonly used in the transmissions of the rear
axles of automobiles and are known for their low noise level.
The main difference compared to straight gears is that the
edges of the teeth are not parallel to the axis of rotation, but are inclined.
2. Hypiod Gear:- Although it can be considered a less
general and helical gear, the main difference is that it consists of a gear
with fewer teeth and a greater number of teeth.
It is used when the axis is vertical but not in the same
plane.
In addition to being used in industrial machinery, these are
commonly used in the automotive industry and are used to connect axles and
drive wheels in vehicles with rear-wheel drive. They use a type of oil that is
characterized by high pressure.
3.Straight bevel gear:-
Straight teeth are placed on the
beveled surface due to the milled outer surface.
This is useful to confirm the transmission of the movement
created between axes of intersection in the same plane at almost the same 90
degree angle.
Even if it is used alone to achieve a reduction in the speed
of an axis placed at a right angle, it can operate up to 45 degrees, 60 degrees
and 70 degrees. Unlike helical bevel gears, there are few coupling surfaces.
4.Spiral bevel gear:-
These bevel
gears are very steep and present a
variety of characteristics.
As the tooth profile of the pinion is wider than that of the
main gear, the teeth are separated from each other.
This allows the teeth of the pinion to engage with the
different teeth of the main gear to deliver a very high torque without wear.

bevel gear??
1.Straight bevel gears:- Straight bevel gears are still used
in many applications in watches, training of dentists, manual drills and
vending machines. In comparison with other types of gears, it is somewhat
incomplete, but it is partially unusable due to the noise generated during the
operation.
They are also still used in certain sectors, such as food
packaging and canning, lawn and garden equipment, machinery such as drills and
sawmills, handling of common materials in the chemical and compression

2.Spiral bevel gears:- These teeth have deformed teeth. The
bevel gears are used in situations where it is important to reverse the direction
of rotation of the shaft.
The spiral bevel gears are twisted to provide a smoother coupling

This reduces the vibration and noise normally experienced
when gears, such as straight bevel gears, move at high speeds.
The spiral bevel gears provide a high level of control over
how the teeth mesh with each other and allow a specific mounting deflection
without overloading the load on both ends of the tooth.
It can be used at high speed and is generally used for
motorcycle and bicycle equipment.
3.Hypoid gears:-
Hypoid gears are used in most cases when the speed exceeds
1,000 revolutions per minute.
However, it is useful for low speed applications that
require very smooth movement or automatic operation.
For gearboxes of
various speeds, the hypoid gears are often used in the output stage and require
a high and low torque.
The most common application of the hypoid gearbox is in the
rear axle, particularly in the automotive industry used in heavy trucks.
Its angles, the right spiral of the main gear and the left
spiral of the pinion, allow the movement of "below the center". This
places the transmission shaft in the lower part, is not affected by the lower

Real applications of bevel gears:-
